Basic Oat cookies recipe

Ingredients

  • 130 gr. oatmeal
  • 100 gr. wholemeal flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 85 gr. raw sugar
  • 85 gr. brown sugar
  • 100 gr. butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 vanilla

Directions

  • Sift the flour, salt and baking soda a into bowl.
  • In another bowl put raw and brown sugar.
  • Add the butter and beat with a hand mixer until you have a creamy and homogenized mixture.
  • Add the egg and vanilla and beat until well absorbed by the mixture.
  • Add flour and mix on low speed .
  • Finally add the oatmeal.
  • Mix gently with a spatula.
  • Preheat oven at 160 ° C, in air.
  • Arrange tablespoons of the mixture onto silicone bake sheet.
  • They spread much so you need to leave a 5 cm gap between them.
  • Bake until the surface of the cookies starts to get brown.
  • About halfway through cooking  change position of the pan, from bottom to top so they are properly baked.
  • Let the biscuits stabilize and transfer to a rack to cool completely.Tip: You may add baking powder in the dough to make the cookies fluffier. Baking soda gives the biscuits a nice color and a crisp texture.
