Invited at the #IntimissimiShow F/W 2013-2014 in Verona

The city of Romeo and Julet, aka Verona flooded last week by journalists and fashion bloggers who came from allmost 50 countries to see up close the new collection of the Italian brand for the next season. I was pretty lucky to seat at the first row so to convey to you the atmosphere from the catwalk.

Our first stop was the Fashion Gallery, the showroom of the Headquarters, that was transformed to a 20s ballroom in order to introduce as to the inspiration of the winter collection! The Great Gatsby, the great movie and the great costume designer Catherine Martin inspired the F/W 13 collection.

The Italians built an impressive catwalk in a special space next to the Headquarters of the company, only a few kilometers away from the historic center of Verona.

The inspiration was based on the film The Great Gatsby with references to the american ’20s to be pervasive throughout the collection.

The starting signal was given by maestro Giorgio Fabbri of the live string orchestra: Gaga Symphony Orchestra who was standing in the back of the catwalk. Music played a massive role in creating the majestic atmosphere. The show started with my all time favorite “Can’t get you out of my head” by Kylie Minogue and continued with the tracks of the official soundtrack of The Great Gatsby, such as the “Young And Beautifull” by Lana Del Rey and “Over The Love” by Florence and the Machine. The curtain fell with my new favorite “A little party never killed nobody” by Fergie.

Through the fashion show, Intimissimi gave her own sexy version of the story of The Great Gatsby. Underwear with revealing lace and tassels playfully combined with real fur, jewelry inspired by the 20s and opera gloves gave a cinematic feeling to the new collection. Andrea Amara, the stylist of the show, traveled within and outside Italy, to find all the right accessories he needed to narrate the story of the collection.

P.S. A very important detail! All models had natural, flawless silhouettes but none of them was any clode to the border of anorexia.
